Special Games at New Horizons
Various presenters and hosts offer unique game experiences throughout the year.  Come to the Center and indulge in a fun afternoon of fun and games with your friends and neighbors.  From trivia, to word play, to BINGO, you never know what's going to appear next!

Game Time:  Assorted Games
Come and indulge your love of games!  Bridge, Card Games, Chess, Mah Jongg, Pinochle, Puzzles, Scrabble, and more! New Horizons has a large collection of games available on site, or you can bring your own special favorite to enjoy an afternoon with friends.  Stop by the Center any Wednesday, or on select Tuesdays, and have fun!

Please be aware that some games require a set number of people to participate before the game can be played.  Because of this, we ask that you inform us when you sign up which game(s) you are interested in playing, and if you will be bringing any friends to play with you, so that we can attempt to ensure that there are enough players for each game.

Come early, and enjoy a hot lunch at the Center, served at 12:00 Noon!  ($2 suggested donation for lunch, paid at the door.  CLICK HERE to see a full menu for the current month.)

Susan (Sue) Bond graduated school as a physical therapist and worked in that field for 8 years before turning to her true love of teaching elementary school math.  For 25 years she devoted herself to providing fun and unique experiences to her 4th and 5th graders, as well as helping out all other primary grades as a math resource person.  She brings the same fun approach to her Brain Games program, offering a refreshing take on the world of mathematics, logic, and critical thinking.

NEW!! Brain Games at New Horizons
Test your memory, exercise your creative thinking, and indulge your inner mathematician during an afternoon of fun and learning.  Former Math Teacher Sue Bond hosts a series of math activities and other games that encourage a person to think inside -- and outside -- the box.  Put on your thinking cap, grab a pen and a coffee, and join in the fun!  (Come early and join us for a delicious lunch plate of Asian Garlic Chicken, served at 12:00 Noon.  ($2 suggested donation for Lunch, paid at the door.  Please register for the meal by May 14.))

Charles (Al) Pearson learned chess from his father at age 10, eventually becoming skilled after discovering a chess book at 15, though other interests like music took him away from the game. As an adult, he stayed involved in chess, organizing tournaments and joining the Main Line Chess Club at age 60 to study with National Master Dan Heisman. After retiring from his career as a computer programmer for NASA, among others, Al taught chess in Philadelphia schools, ran the Weavers Way Chess Club, and served as a certified US Chess Federation tournament director.  He shares his love of the game with interested participants every Wednesday afternoon at New Horizons, offering an afternoon of fun and learning to the whole club.

Monthly Trivia Sheet
Created by Water Ault, Available Upon Request

Walter Ault, a senior with a love of random facts, offers his eclectic knowledge in a monthly trivia sheet, available at the Front Desk upon request.  Posing 10-12 questions a month that vary in difficulty from easy (capitals of states) to headache inducing (who hit 4 home runs in the same Baseball game on July 6, 1986?), Walt challenges individuals to plumb their memories for as varied minutiae as history events, sports triumphs, geographical landmarks, and more.  Test your knowledge, show off to friends, and learn interesting new facts along the way. There's something for everyone in these monthly challenges!
Available at the Front Desk
Any Weekday, 9:30 AM -- 2:30 PM
