The welcome mat is always out at our physical location
in Narberth, PA!  With several rooms packed full of activities, a catered lunch served every day, and an elevator for easier access, New Horizons has something for everyone.   The Center is easily accessible to public transportation (2 blocks from Narberth Train Station, 2 blocks from 44 Bus), and has door-to-door service for Montgomery County residents, via TransNet.  It is also ADA accessible, with a ramp and an elevator, and has adjacent parking for all those who want to drive.   New Horizons is inviting to seniors of all ages because of its accessibility, its core mission, & the camaraderie of its volunteers and members.

Mission

The mission of New Horizons Senior Center is to provide supportive programs and services that enable older adults to live independently in their own homes, form meaningful connections with others, and engage in lifelong learning.

History

New Horizons was founded in 1976 by Dr. William Mace, a geriatric psychologist who was passionate about keeping older adults independent, active and in their own homes. Originally known as the “Lower Merion Senior Center,” the Center was first located at St. Mary’s in Ardmore. It moved to Narberth in 2003, and changed its name to New Horizons. In 2011 New Horizons was acknowledged for its program excellence and was granted provider status by Montgomery County Aging and Adult Services. In 2013, the Center moved to its current site at Narberth Borough Hall.  Due to the current pandemic, we closed our on-site programs on March 13, 2020, and have established a robust Virtual Center to continue to provide services to all our Members and Guests.
