"The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel"
with Ellensue Jacobson
Meet virtually with other film enthusiasts to watch the chosen movie for this month, and then discuss it on a later date.  All Seniors welcome!

This Month:  “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”:   Return to India and the fun of last month with Dev Patel, Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy and others, as the original stellar cast from “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” reprise their roles in an equally comedic sequel, now joined by Richard Gere.

As the Hotel has only a single remaining vacancy - posing a rooming predicament for two fresh arrivals - Sonny (Patel) pursues his expansionist dream of opening a second hotel, while also trying to plan his own wedding.  The hijinks and mishaps that ensue make for a hilarious romp as friends and family come together to help Sonny make his dreams a reality...and find meaning in their own lives along the way.

"Silent Spring"
By Rachel Carson

with Chris Jackson
First published by Houghton Mifflin in 1962, Silent Spring alerted a large audience to the environmental and human dangers of indiscriminate use of pesticides, spurring revolutionary changes in the laws affecting our air, land, and water. “Silent Spring became a runaway bestseller, with international reverberations . . . [It is] well crafted, fearless and succinct . . . Even if she had not inspired a generation of activists, Carson would prevail as one of the greatest nature writers in American letters”
